A Little Creative Therapy Required
A little therapy required for me yesterday!
It was not a good day ....family stuff....but then we all get that from time to time! Anyway lots of little voices going off in my head, you know the sort of thing 'you should have done more', 'you must have deserved it', 'you should have known better' and on and on and on!
Right that's it I thought I am going shopping - ooops opened purse and that little voice in head said 'you've got to be joking'!
Where was my other half? Oh yes he was driving so couldn't bother him with it. Right, next! Text sister - 'are you near your computer' No, she said, but have iPad! Right I need to let off steam! Ooops! was her reply! I sent her an email that I am sure didn't make sense but think she got the gist!
(Thank you dear sister!) It helped .... the voices were not quite so loud now!
But then I shouted at the voices STOP! So moving away from computer hastily (before I found someone else to email with my rantings) I decided to get my creative juices working which is always very therapeutic for me!
Fortunately I am a hoarder - not bad enough to be in that programme on the TV - but quite bad! :(
I found some pretty pieces of wallpaper which I had left over from my interior design course (that was about 11 years ago and I actually found doing that course incredibly therapeutic and rewarding).
Anyway I digress once again.........I then proceeded to do something that I have wanted to do for ages but haven't had the time......didn't have the time now, of course, but this was absolutely necessary if I was to keep my sanity!
First I opened an old envelope - opened it up completely to use as a template to make my own envelopes! This thought came into my head last year when someone won a Makeover Voucher and I looked everywhere to find a pretty envelope for it!
After I had made a few I found there were triangles left over. So I went on to make DIY cones. These would be lovely for wedding confetti and what a lovely idea to make personal envelopes for wedding invitations and cones to match. You could even make pretty envelopes for children's party invitations and then with the leftover triangles make cones for sweets!
Ah I feel better now!
Oh and much better after the chocolate treat of maltesers - well I couldn't put them back in the packet could I! :)
