Cadbury Blue and Yellow

 I had a phone call from a bride to be who was enquiring about purple and yellow natural confetti.  These are two colours I had not put together before but when I thought about it, the Cadbury Blue delphinium and the Yellow marigold seemed to be a perfect combination.  I put them together and this is what I came up with - stunning bold combination of petals and colours.  I sent some samples in the post to the bride to be straight away!

Planting those seeds

Christmas has come and gone, New Years celebrations all over and my Christmas decorations are down and stored away for another year.. I now turn my mind towards planting the seeds for this years crop of larkspur for our confetti.  This year I have tried something new, by planting some seeds last September I am hoping to have some early crops around June, followed by another crop in August from the seeds to be planted this March.  I really hope it works as the picking and drying can be spread across the summer months rather than the mad harvest in August!  I just can't wait to start rotivating!

A blast from the past

I just haven't had the time to blog this summer.  My little natural confetti business has gone from strength to strength.  I now have a shop on eBay and on Etsy and since moving to the Home Counties, local orders for confetti have been phenomenal.

So now the wedding season has begun to slow down, I should have time to pay attention to blogging and updating my website and perhaps even take some annual leave - bring it on.  Perhaps even another skiing holiday!

Basket of cones

These lovely large round baskets have proved to be popular this season filled with cones of natural confetti.  Here we have two different types of cones.  These baskets have been filled with cones just before dispatch to the customer.  The confetti has to travel separately of course as it would be all over the place by the time it reaches its destination!

Mix of the Week - marigold and cornflower

Our choice of natural petal confetti as mix of the months is a blend of aromatic yellow marigold Petals and blue cornflower petals.  Our trugs filled with these petals are perfect for bridesmaids or ushers to carry and offer to guests or simply just to leave on a table, pew or chair for the guests to help themselves.

Lavender as confetti

An alternative to petals for natural petals or rice could be lavender for natural wedding confetti It smells so beautiful and if you are on a budget, it is much more reasonable. Try it with a mix of marigold petals to give a warm gold and blue colour mix.

Planting natural confetti

We made use of the first good day yesterday and commenced planting of this years crops for our natural confetti. We still have along way to go so hopefully the weather will hold for us. Dare I say that we will need a little rain very soon to water in the seeds! As we took a quick break and looked out at the views across our fields, we realised how lucky we are and just why we chose to live here!

The Corn Barn

We supplied the confetti this weekend for the lovely Lisa who was married in a church in Teignmouth Devon. She chose a mixture of red and ivory rose petals and blue and raspberry delphinium petals. The reception followed in this beautiful barn in stunning rolling hills of mid Devon near Cullompton. A full wedding service can also be provided here in the gorgeous Corn Barn.

Bespoke Confetti

We put this gorgeous basket of confetti together for a wedding today in Virginia Water.  Pale green cones made from gorgeous paper that we sourced from France.  The cones are filled with ivory delphiniums.   The mother of the bride bought this basket and filled it with 50 of the little cones, decorated the handle with gorgeous ribbon and here is the result.  Just beautiful bespoke confetti!  We are hoping and praying that the weather stayed fine today for the lovely bride and we look forward to some fab pics.  With the brides permission we shall be publishing the photos really soon!

Another happy couple!!

I just had to share these pictures and comments with you all from the mother of the bridegroom of this gorgeous couple.

The confetti was absolutely fabulous, so pretty, in the bags in the
baskets and being showered all over Benjie and Lizzie!!

Everyone asked where it had come from and was very impressed! The weather miraculously improved for us, the sun came out and I think a happy day was had by all - such a relief after all the torrential rain!

The Vintage Wedding

With the latest trends heading towards vintage style weddings, I per chance stumbled on this lovely vintage paper to make pretty cones for our natural confetti.  It is such lovely paper to work with and designs on either side of the paper are varied and in fabulous pastel colours.  The pattern on the inside of the cone is different to the outside but the colour shades are the same - very subtle.                                                                             

We are thrilled with these stunning confetti cones.  And any pastel shade of petal looks great with them.

All hands on deck!

With the wedding season at its peak it is all hands on deck and we are still turning orders round in a couple of days.  We have plenty of delphinium petals in all colours, with a mix of vibrant blue and ivory seemingly very fashionable. 

Little bridesmaids love to be flower girls and hand out the confetti to those guests who have forgotten to bring any along. 

It is also a good idea to have a  basket of cones full of confetti or organza bags at the ready on a table in the venue at the exit point ready for guests to collect just in time for the photo shoot.

The Mexican Bride

Our natural confetti petals travelled all the way to Mexico for a glorious wedding there.  The bride was absolutely delighted with the confetti.  It travelled really well in our little organza bags, all ready to hand out for the 'throwing moment'.  Check out our website www.naturalconfetti.co.uk for more information and Sharon's testimonial.  These little bags are so popular and can be filled with petals in your bespoke colours.  The latest favourite seems to be the vibrant blue and ivory.  They look gorgeous together.

Cones, cones and more cones!

Just provided the natural petal confetti for a big wedding in the South East - all hush hush!  Fantastic - although exhausting making all those delicate little cones!  Phew! Pics coming soon hopefully..........

Our latest wedding!

This gorgeous little bridesmaid got the timing just right with the 'throwing of the confetti'.  This is a pic from one of our latest weddings. The venue was extremely happy to allow the natural petal confetti to be thrown as it is biodegradeable.  More and more venues now will not allow the old fashioned paper confetti.
